Emmeline Pankhurst Project

Did you know that one hundred years ago, women did not have the right to vote? Only men could. But then, Emmeline Pankhurst helped change that. She went through I much to make sure that what she wanted to happen, happen. Shortly after, she passes away. But, they still made it allowed for women to vote. And because of that, she changed history and also the future.

For one of our projects in school, we were to pick a theme or person and write about it. I chose a person and my theme of that person was courage. I decided to choose Emmeline Pankhurst. So, today I’m going to tell you a little about her and why I think she’s courageous.

Emmeline Pankhurst was born on July 15, 1858. She lived until she was age 69 and died June 14, 1928. Emmeline was born in England. She was known for her greatness of when she gave women the right to vote. Women’s Social and Political Union, which used militant tactics to agitate for women’s suffrage. Parliament granted British women limited suffrage in 1918. She died shortly before women were given full voting rights. Although she is the reason that it happened. She took courage for herself and other women. Why did she take the time to do this you might ask? As Emmeline was getting older, she noticed that women were treated differently. She became motivated to change that. She died from an illness at age 69 but overall, she was a great woman that changed today.

Hi, I’m Sosena and I’m Isabella’s best friend, me and Isabella have been friends for 4 years and counting. This is the second year that we have been in the same class. Last year was the first year that we were in the same class and it was the best year. We have so many memories from last year. Such as Camp kern, Math class and so much more. Byeeeeeee.

Edu blogs challenge(create an avatar) 🙎

I decided to participate in the edublogs challenge this year. For the first task that was assigned, it was to create and design an avatar that looks like you. The website I used was https://charat.me. I think this avatar looks similar to me and this website is good because it’s quick and easy to design your avatar. Also, when you get out of the app/website, it saves what you created incase you forgot to save it. I am also going to talk a little bit about myself, even though I wrote about that in the last one, this was apart of the edublogs challenge. So my name is Isabella. I am in sixth grade. I play volleyball and I love it. I also play the violin for my schools orchestra group. I love to read and do math. Those are my favorite subjects. My favorite color is pastel yellow and light blue.

First Blog Post!!!

My name is Isabella. Some things I like to do are reading books, I play the violin for my school’s sixth grade orchestra and I play volleyball. My favorite genres to read are mysteries and realistic fiction.

One thing on my goals list for this year is to have  better word choice in my writing. Having better word choice is important because you want to entertain your reader. Also, I want to read multiple different genres this year and explore some more genres and see if I can learn to like them. I want to read 8 or 9 books this quarter.

Some of the things that I would like to accomplish in my life are the things on my dreamboard that we created in my class. The things that I included is going to Puerto Rico, going scuba diving, parasailing, I want to be a real estate agent, and I want to learn how to speak German. I want to go to Puerto rico because I think that it seems very tropical and like a fun place to visit. Also, I want to go scuba diving because I think it seems so fun to see all of the marine animals and also to see the coral reef. I want to go parasailing because I think it seems fun to look below you and see the ocean. I want to be a real estate because I think it seems fun to tour and explore houses. The reason I want to learn to speak German is because I think that it’s a rare language that most people don’t speak.

The most important stances to me would be empathy and flexibility. I say empathy because sometimes it is hard to be empathetic for some people but it’s also important. Empathy is like when you feel how others are feeling and so then you know what they feel like. Also, flexibility because sometimes you want something for yourself but you also have to be flexible and sometimes do more than that and be willing to do more than something that is for yourself. Although those are hardest for me and maybe others too. But I think that all five of these stances are important. Although I think you should be all of them, from watching the videos about them and learning all about them, I have learned not to be too much of any of them. Here’s why..

If your too empathetic then people will take advantage of you, same with flexibility. With persistence, it is good to stick with something but also to try something new. If you have resilience then it is good to adapt but also knowing to cope with seatbacks. And lastly, Optimism. When something bad happens it’s okay to be upset but also to know to look on the bright side of everything.
